It’s true! I saw it in the weekend. Three glorious days of warm sun – bliss!
I headed down to Wellington on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised to walk out of the apartment building and NOT FEEL COLD!!! I was momentarily shocked and after hesitating at the doorway, proceeded to park the car where it [...]

Well, I had a lovely weekend, taking the Monday off (my first day off since May). I left work a half-hour early on Friday, ready to get going to my brother’s place near Masterton. Unfortunately I hadn’t counted on my forgetful daughter who was still in town and didn’t appear until 7pm (armed with fish [...]

even though, as usual, it seemed short.
I went down to Wellington on Friday night. H and her boyfriend wanted to see his brother ’debuting’ at a wrestling event in Petone. So, left work early, picked up kids and headed down to Wellington. Got there with 15 minutes to spare. The hall was freezing, full of wrestling [...]

Another weekend flew by, most of it spent in Wellington. My daughter had just come back from Fiji so we headed to her place to return her pet budgie (we had been looking after it while she was away and spent a lot of time trying to distract the kitten from taking too great an [...]

The wedding was fine. They were lucky with the weather. Started at 3pm (approximately) at the duck pond in the Botanical Gardens in Wellington.
Didn’t start getting cold until the sun went behind the trees. Very nice.
The scandal of the day was that the bride’s aunt (mother’s sister) and 2 cousins didn’t show up. Apparently the [...]
Tired!

Surely I should have got over the daylight saving changes by now but I’ve felt extremely tired for the past two weeks. The other night I went to bed at 8.20pm I was so tired and tonight I felt equally ready to go to bed half an hour ago (it’s now 9pm). Perhaps it’s the [...]
Glad to be home

The jazz festival was a disappointment. There were fewer bands and much of it wasn’t even jazz. A new part of the festival involved paying $10 to enter the (normally free) historic village to listen to more jazz bands. Some of it was ok but, again, some of the bands were not playing jazz or [...]

Last month went quickly.
It felt very weird to finish up at my last workplace. I miss some of the people (but not the culture). I don’t regret working there. It just wasn’t challenging enough and the pay was pitiful.
Work at the new place is fine. Learning new stuff and getting on with it. There’s plenty to [...]
Comp back up and running

Thanks to one of those useful blokes who can do stuff and happen to have spare computer parts lying around, my computer is back up and running (reasonably well). It does make an awful noise when it starts up though so I’m not sure it’s completely healthy. Time will tell…
A couple of pics from my [...]

Xmas/New Year done for another year. It was a fairly quiet one at my friend’s place. Of course I drank too much (I blame the red wine which my friend’s partner kept pouring in my glass). When will I learn? However, I remembered everything and everyone else danced to the blues music as well, so [...]
